Her real name is Melody Louledjian, Melody Lou is first and foremost a renowned lyrical artist (soprano) having sung on the most beautiful national and international stages; Paris Opera, Opéra Comique, Munich Opera, Bordeaux, Nice, Lausanne, Berlin, Geneva, Reggio Emilia, Porto …
Multi-faceted artist, poly-instrumentalist, she is immersed in cultures and musical universes as rich as they are varied. She created her first “non-lyrical” project by choosing the French repertoire of the 1930s to 1950s, a direct vocal heritage of opera and operetta. Accompanied by her accordion and drawing on her unstoppable technical background, she sings these songs in a simple and natural style, thus exploiting another use of her voice, more bare, original.
For the arrangement of this repertoire, she turns to guitarist Marc Campo, with confirmed jazz culture. Accompanied by her accordion, she offers, with her musicians, a journey of discovery and rediscovery of the songs of that time, sometimes in their original setting, sometimes totally transformed. In Concert or Bal Musette version, a moment when time stands still and nostalgia opens up to modernity.
