Raymond Doumbé was born in Cameroon and has lived in Paris since 1976. He frequented the musicians of Rue Dunois where he began playing with Dominique Gaumont, then in the 80s he accompanied Salif Keita, Mory Kanté and Ray Lema. At this time he met the jazz pianist Bobby Few, whom he accompanied on bass for ten years in Parisian clubs. Current 90 he is called to play with the immense Miriam Makeba with whom he will tour and the biggest festivals around the world for 13 years.
From 2008, he joined Manu Dibango’s orchestra until his recent demise when the “Safari Symphonique” began, a journey and encounter between African and symphonic music. He has just produced and produced “Hidden Paradise”, a hymn to Africa, the fruit of all these encounters and experiences.

After accompanying the greatest African artists such as Manu Dibango, Miriam Makeba or Salif Keita… The Cameroonian-born musician embarks on this adventure and even sings 3 of his compositions in Douala, his native language.
